Benny Rozen is the director of Crows Nest Dance Centre. He has been dancing competitive International Ballroom/Latin for more than half his life. Benny`s extensive list of championship titles speak for themselves; achievements include winning the Big Brother scholarship and representing Australia at the British Championships. He is also a Hong Kong Ten Dance Champion, East Coast Classic Champion and Australian Champion.Benny is passionate about teaching people and watching them grow. He believes that there are many like him that love the beauty of dancing and wants to spread the joy and freedom of dance. Benny is available for private lessons and teaches our ballroom/ latin classes.
Janise Huckerby started dancing at age five, when her mother took her along to ballet classes to correct her posture. Janise is one multi-talented dancer having trained in jazz, hip hop, street latin and international ballroom. Passionate about motivating people to dance, she has taught and conducted many workshops in Sydney and judged on the popular ABC TV series, "Strictly Dancing".Janise teaches our Tuesday Tiny Tots class and is also available for private lessons!
Catherine Chen has become a renowned expert in Zumba, having taught in Sydney's Zumba scene for many years now. As a lawyer, food blogger, and Zumba Fitness instructor, Cath more than understands the importance of balancing a busy lifestyle with a regular exercise routine. She believes that after a long day at work there is nothing better than shaking it off and working up a sweat to a great playlist. Cath's high energy Zumba classes are a great way to have fun, get fit and meet new people!
Isabelle Martin studied at the Australian Institute of Fitness as a personal trainer and trained at various dance studios including Sydney Dance Company Studios and Crows Nest Dance Centre. Isabelle is a qualified Zumba instructor and has been teaching both Zumba and Bounce Dance fit at Crows Nest Dance Centre for many years now. She has been dancing since the age of 12 and has trained in various dance styles such as Latin, Jazz, Belly Dancing and Hip hop. Isabelle is confident, energetic and passionate about dance, she loves working with students of all ages and levels and really enjoys seeing them improve and most importantly have fun with their dancing. Her dance based and high energy Zumba and Bounce classes have made her well known and respected in her field.
Karina Schembri has been dancing since she was a young girl.Her list of extensive achievements include Australian Professional Champion, Juvenile, Junior and Amateur Standard, Latin, and New Vogue Champion and cast member of Burn the Floor and Dancing with the Stars. Karina's friendly and professional teaching style have made her a fan favourite at Crows Nest Dance Centre; she teaches the intermediate and Advanced Latin classes and is available for private lessons.
Aaron Hyman has always had a deep love for music and dancing. He played Jazz music in high school and it opened him up to an instinctive understanding of rhythms and passion for great music. Dancing for over 4 years now, Aaron started off with LA Salsa and Swing dancing before moving to his current passions - Cuban Salsa, bachata and Kizomba. Aaron's goal is to pass his love of Cuban Salsa, bachata and Kizomba to as many others as he can by teaching the fundamentals of the dance and most importantly doing so whilst having fun! Aaron teaches the Cuban salsa classes and is also available for private lessons.
Susan Williams has been ballroom dancing for 30 years, and teaching for the past 22 years. She teaches social dancers, wedding couples and medal test students. For the past 10 years Susan's main focus has been creating personally tailored wedding choreography for the more than 500 bridal couples she has taught in that time. She particularly enjoys the challenge of turning non-dancers into dancers in a relatively short space of time. In addition to her 8 years of formal study in International Style Latin American, her dance background includes a brief, amateur competitive career in Latin American, being a member of the dance corps in amateur musical theatre productions, and three years of ballet training.
