Yoga is believed to be over three thousand years old and has helped millions across the world through its wonderful practice. Building spiritual, emotional mental and physical health Crows Nest Dance Centre’s Ashtanga yoga increases flexibility, endurance, work efficiency, concentration, mental clarity and reduces illness and stress resulting in a better night’s sleep and peaceful state of well-being.

Ashtanga yoga focuses on a meditative sequence of movements with breath control; classes are taught by the centre’s expert Yoga Director Nicole Mohay.

Nicole carries a degree in Sports Science at the University of New South Wales, three years of yoga teacher training and over twenty years of teaching and practising. Nicole is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of yoga and is well known both internationally and within Australia. There are no age limits for her yoga classes which are also suitable for all body types.

Nicole’s Philosophy is that yoga should be practiced with gracefulness and ease and should not be a physical ordeal but a mindful journey; reflecting only what is presently happening a non judgemental observation.

Nicole has worked with thousands of students over the past years and here’s what a few had to say about her classes:

“I’ve been attending Nicole’s lunchtime Ashtanga classes for over a year and I’d like to say thank you Nicole for the difference you’ve made to my working week. I’ve practiced different forms of Yoga on and off over the years, your classes however are not just unique and beautifully refreshing but a space in which I always feel supported. Lunchtime yoga has buoyed me through weeks of city and work tedium and is a truly welcome break from chair-bound work. Thank you for your patience, and the opportunity to relax, centre myself and get some much needed exercise.”

“In 15 years of practice, I have experienced many teachers. I have to say though that Nicole is absolutely one of a kind. What sets Nicole apart is her fun loving spirit and light touch; she brings enormous care and humour to the mat. This makes the learning experience extremely enjoyable on what can seem a very daunting and serious practice. Thank you Nicole!”

"My name is Sean Cunningham. I started yoga about 6 months ago. I tried numerous classes but wasn’t totally satisfied until I found Nicole’s Ashtanga class. I really love her classes because I get up a good sweat, and my flexibility has really improved. I also like the feeling of spirituality she conveys. Only problem is her classes have become so popular that you have to get there early just to get a spot- but it’s well worth it."
